Hi. My name is Tim Calcara. My wife Marilyn and I have made Eastern Iowa our home since 1979. We have raised six kids here and now enjoy the excitement of grandchildren.  Life is good! 

Professionally, I have been in radio in some capacity for over three decades.  I have worked as an announcer, a general manager and everything in between.  I have worked for small radio companies and I have spent over seven years working for the largest Christian radio network in the world.  But I have to tell you that I've never been more excited about a radio station's ministry than I am about ours and here's why...

I work for a radio network that has learned the secret of attracting many non-Christian listeners to tune in and challenging them to put their hope in Jesus Christ.  As Advancement Director for Life 101.9 and Faith 1090 - the radio ministry of Northwestern College in St. Paul, I get to visit our supporters to share with them that their investment is not only encouraging believers, but they are also supporting a radio ministry that is evangelizing as well.  Research in the past has shown that this format has typically only played to self-described "evangelical Christians."

It's my conviction that a perfect storm of spiritual hunger fueled by economic uncertainty is drawing new listeners in record numbers.  And when I read the email we receive from new believers who say they have trusted Christ as Lord and Savior primarily by listening to our station, I get almost excited as I do playing with my grandbabies!
